The Pain of Pornography

One of the saddest and increasingly common problems women today face is discovering that the man that she loves has been compulsively looking at pornography, even to the point of addiction.   Of particular concern is pornography is increasingly a significant factor in the breakdown of marriages.

Learning of a husband’s porn problem can create waves of intense pain, disillusionment, anger, fear, and devastation for a woman.

When the waves of anxiety hit, it can be difficult to know exactly what to do.  At Restoring Hearts, a one-day event for women who have been impacted by sexual betrayal, we believe of primary importance is for a woman to know that her husband’s (or boyfriend’s) porn addiction is NOT HER FAULT and she is NOT ALONE.

Restoring Hearts…

For nine years, Restoring Hearts has connected women from across the Pacific Northwest into a community of support and education, providing critical tools needed to develop a personal road map for healing and moving forward following a sexual betrayal.

“Whether or not her husband decides to get help and get out of porn, our event is a day completely dedicated to helping a woman heal from this often devastating discovery,” Restoring Hearts Director Karen Crawford said. “Our goal at Restoring Hearts is to help women regain their strength and find their voice. It’s important that women know that they can stand up to their spouse’s behavior, say ‘NO MORE’ and through a supportive community find a way forward. Men can get help and get into recovery and marriages can be restored. Our focus is to encourage and equip a woman to make the best choices for her healing and future.”

Restoring Hearts features a wide range of workshops presented by Licensed Therapists, betrayal recovery ministry experts and mentors, each designed to provide tools to help women navigate the disclosure of their partner’s pornography problem, including:
